There's no legal term for "organic" so companies can label whatever they want as "organic." Buyer beware.
Personally, I'm much more comfortable with food and milk that has been taken care of in ways that eliminate disease and add nutrients that help my body digest and take advantage of its nutrition. Its a personal choice though. I think most organic eaters do so for aesthetic reasons instead of health ones. (at least, I hope so)
It equates to non-genetically modified and a lot less to transform you into a mutant or give you a disease there won't be a cure for for another 50 years.
1) Everything grown for the past 5,000 years has been genetically modified by humans. The very nature of agriculture changed the genetic makeup of the plants. Breeding programs have given us food that is completely different than the food of Martin Luther.
Irradiation has been around for a century. It is far more random than the more scientific genetic manipulative we do now. And yet, species that resulted from irradiation qualify as organic.
2) There's never been a single case of anyone being transformed into a mutant or being given any disease from GMOs. (genetically modified organisms) The overwhelming majority of the food Americans have been buying from their grocery stores is GMO. Ever eaten a Ritz cracker? A pop tart?

What you do is you come across someone's argument and you say "wrong! wrong!" and yet provide nothing to the contrary. It's quite immature. You also always hastenly label people (see your reply below about Dick Cheney).
Future replies using facts may be posted here. http://wis.dm/scenes/18-thrive/questions/559108... Until then, you are part of the corporate BS food chain and can enjoy sucking Cheney's genetically modified dick.
Well, in general i don't trust anyone who claims their goods to be superior to others, because i KNOW most of them are lying, because all they are interested in is their money, and that's it. So, NO, i don't equate organic with healthy, unless it comes from my own garden. AND, after reading that other question about what is considered organic foods, it is unnacceptable that they use "approved synthetic" stuff - that already says it all to me - it is not to be trusted. :)
]Organic implies there are no chemicals added. Even pig poo is not organic. Pigs are given hormone treatment to be leaner, more meat producing animals. Organic, for me, is anything consumable that has no pesticides, or herbicides. Is ground in unadulterated ground. The result is usually more colorful, and with a more delicious taste. The rest of what America eats is mostly chemicals. I do hope they enjoy it.
I don't know where you shop but here in Southern California organic food is smaller, less colorful, spoils faster, is generally of lower quality and costs more than normal crops. As far as I can tell there is no taste difference. Overall I have found organic to be a poor buy.
"This bread is my body" equates to "I am what I eat". If something logical can be twisted into something spirtual, surely the term organic, healthy, etc. can have several meanings. If your body is of the greater percentage water, does this equate to living water? If you comprehension of existence is not supported by logic, shouldn't you question your comprehension before suspecting a miracle, freak explosion, etc.? Visit almegaconception.com for more.
1 = 2/2 equates to Actual = relative/relative Actual = relative/relative equate to Void = space/matter Peace = life/death Rest = action/reaction Where is the existence, creation, evolution or change that conflicts with logic? Do you have direct comprehension of sequential relatives? or Do you have sequential acknowledgment of simultaneous relatives, in order to vlidate comprehension?

Organic, in it's original context, was a great thing. Unfortunately, it has become a trend and a label that is used to sell the largely uninformed public a line of BS. Throw it in there with the words "green" and "hybrid", words that have simply become marketing ploys. You could slap a "green" sticker on an industrial smokestack, and people would love it. You could make a Hummer hybrid (or Escalade hybrid, due out 2009) and idiots would drive around all day thinking they are saving the planet. You could put an"organic" sticker on a pack of cigarettes, and some idiots would smoke 'em up thinking they are all of a sudden healthy for you. It's for the most part a big crock of shit.
